Barnfield Construction were awarded the contracts after working closely with the site owners for a numbers of years, both in a development management capacity, and more recently undertaking the construction works on site to make way for the new retail occupiers.
As part of the contract, Barnfield completed outstanding works on the original contract, repairs to cladding and the like, subdivided the larger unit (originally Homebase) to form the TKMaxx and M&S shell unit. New foundations were formed for the TKMaxx mezzanine together with new lift pits and a new external canopy with scissor lift.
Before our intervention the development had been empty for around 7 years but now is home to Pet’s at Home as well as M&S Food and TK Maxx.
