In Spring 2019 Barnfield completed the refurbishment of a former warehouse into a brand new leisure facility at the iconic Northlight development in Brierfield.
Burnley FC in the Community is the latest occupier at Northlight and their Leisure Box facility will service the communities of Burnley and Pendle, and with further reach across the East Lancashire region, the complex is a state-of-the-art space, designed for everyone in the community to enjoy.
Based in what was the warehouse element of the mill, (and officially opened by RT Hon Theresa May) this brand new community hub is now a place to play sport, learn, climb, play and to eat.
The new facility includes an indoor 3G pitch, education suites, a children’s soft play area, Lancashire’s largest clip ‘n’ climb, dance studios and indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The Leisure Box is a bright, inclusive, fun place and there is something for everyone, no matter their interests or abilities.
Brierfield Mill has been renamed Northlight and is being developed into a £32 million mixed-use destination offering leisure, office and apartment facilities.
Northlight is owned by PEARL (Brierfield Mill), a pioneering development joint venture company between Barnfield Construction and Pendle Borough Council.
