As we go from strength to strength, our Chairman Tim Webber was recently awarded an MBE for services to business and the community in Lancashire.

In tandem with this success is a growing commitment to further develop our renowned quality while continuously improving the company’s environmental performance health and safety culture.  To this end a new full time position of HSEQ assistant has been created, and following a rigorous selection Sheryl Waterhouse has been appointed to the role.

Delighted at her success, Sheryl says “I already feel at home here and everyone I’ve met both on site and in the office has made me feel genuinely welcome.  The company culture is very positive and is based on hard work, respect and appreciation, which is evident throughout the whole organisation.

Each day brings new challenges due to the ever changing nature of a construction site and the wide variety of projects we undertake. This is what makes working at Barnfield Construction so exciting.

I am looking forward to leading on future health, safety and environmental projects and supporting the HSEQ manager in working on new ideas and initiatives.”

HSEQ manager, David Shaw, congratulated Sheryl saying “We were determined to find an applicant with the drive and tenacity to take on a very demanding role which will be invaluable in continuing the progress the company has made.

Sheryl is a good fit and brings a great attitude and work ethic which, alongside her degree in law, will add an extra dimension to the department.  I am delighted to have her on the team.”

Since her appointment Sheryl has also been awarded the role of Health and Safety representative for all employees, a role in which we feel she will excel due to her extremely personable manner.
