VALUE: £1.5 Million
Barnfield Construction were asked to complete this extremely high quality pool extension for an existing client’s private home.
The contract included a 4,843 sq ft extension featuring a pool, games room, three bay garage, gym, sauna, steam room, changing rooms and a plant room.
A 3.5 metre retaining wall was built separating Pinner Lane from the site. Engineers on the site used a mini piling rig to knock 12 metre piles into the ground in order to ensure the wall didn’t collapse whilst this was taking place.
Stepped foundations measuring 2.5 metres were developed in order to create the pool. A void around the pool had to be created in order for access to be available. This was an extremely intricate engineering project, everything was critical.
Cruck frame trusses were incorporated within a traditional build which formed a sense of old meets new and almost gothic look whilst also keeping the building within the grade 2 listed building constraints.
