Derwent House is the sympathetic conversion of the former Colne Grammar School into 23 luxury apartments.
The project involved the Demolition of ancillary block and catering block removed to leave the existing building standing in its previous magnificent glory.
The transformation involved structural alteration, the restoration of the west moorland green slate roof and new windows made by our highly skilled in-house joiners shop.
Internally, each apartment has been built to and extremely high specification to exacting standards by the client incorporating German kitchens, extensive feature tiling and a video entrance system.
To the front of the property, a secure underground car park and generous storage area is incorporated which involved the removal of 3,300m3 of earth.
Approached directly off Barrowford Road via electronic gates, the development features two enclosed courtyards for exclusive use of the residents and the grounds have been extensively landscaped.
