Founded in 2002, award-winning BCW Engineering provides engineering, production, design and management solutions to the aerospace, avionics, automotive and marine markets.
In 2014, to facilitate its growth ambitions, BCW invested in the refurbishment of part of the former Michelin Tyres site at Innovation Drive, Burnley,
Barnfield Construction was appointed as the Main Contractor to deliver approximately 17,750sqft (3B) of industrial space (no amenity space/amenity block) and a further 18,243 sq ft of industrial space complete with an associated double storey amenity block (3C) – (17685 sq ft ground floor and 558 sqft first floor amenity), including car parking, service area and compressor house (3C).
Construction specification included:
- Structural steelwork and alterations
- New reinforced concrete floor slab
- Renewed roof and wall cladding
- Aluminium windows and doors
- Advanced mechanical and electrical installations
- New 1000 kva substation supply
- Reinforced insitu concrete service yard
Barnfield Construction also delivered associated external works including paving, car parking, drainage, and soft landscaping.
Barnfield are now back on site delivering the final phase of the Innovation development for BCW which includes:
A 70,000 sq ft industrial unit with service yard
A Greener Recycling Centre with service yard
