From the Colne Town Council:

As this year’s Bank Holiday weekend Great British and Rhythm Festival gathers pace, Colne Town Council is again delighted to announce continued financial support from our main sponsor Barnfield Construction Ltd and further support from our associate partners, The Burnley Bus Company, Community Rail Lancashire, H Riggs Properties, Carlos Ristorante and Unique Clean.

Tim Webber Chairman and Managing Director of Barnfield Construction Ltd, longtime financial supporters of the festival said “Since last year’s involvement with Colne Town Council, we have seen the festival grow even more.

With additional venues, more award-winning acts and a weekend packed full of activity for all to enjoy, this year’s festival is shaping up to be another great event for Colne. Barnfield Construction Ltd is pleased to be able to continue its support of Colne and wishes all attending a great and fun packed weekend”.

Councillor Joe Cooney, Chairman of the Blues Working Group said “It is perhaps a testament to last year’s enormously successful festival, that our sponsors and partners from last year have again given their kind support.

In increasing just how much is on offer, including a festival market and street entertainment and more buskers over both the Saturday and Sunday, for just £75 for an all weekend festival all venue ticket, and just £35 for a day festival ticket, it really is incredibly good value for a weekend of award-winning performers gracing the stages of Colne.

This year’s festival is running from Friday evening 24th August through to Sunday 26th August featuring over 130 acts, 150 gigs, 4 main venues and 11 official roadhouses offering an amazing array of Blues offers.

Over the three evenings, the Muni features headline acts of Laurence Jones, Simon Mcbride and King King (saluted as the best blues-rock band in the world), whilst the Hippodrome headlines Connie Lush, My Baby, Kyla Bro, all award-winning acts on the up and up within the blues world.

All of these artists in their own right, tour and sell out their own shows, so having them feature as part of evenings with amazing other artists as well, offers incredibly good value for each ticketed venue at affordable prices that make it accessible to share in this great experience.

Add to this a daytime offer as well, that also includes Burnley performer Lucy Zirins Acoustic Blues Showcase at the Little Theatre on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, and unique to Colne, Dr Bloodworts Nefarious Medicine Show, Colne is simply the best place to be for Blues music over this bank holiday weekend. The whole weekend offers something really special.
