Barnfield Construction Limited are now on site and the steel frame is being erected at phase 1 of Beacon 62, the latest 11.5-acre strategic gateway mixed use development in Knowsley.
The Beacon 62 development is being brought forward in partnership with Barnfield Construction and Henry Boot Developments under the joint venture company name, Henry Boot Barnfield Limited. Phase 1 will consist of an 18,000 sq ft Aldi supermarket adjacent to both the M62 and M57 motorways.
Contractors, Developers and Investors, Barnfield Construction, will undertake all construction works on the site, which extends across three plots.
Consent was granted in 2018 for a Supermarket, Petrol Filling Station and a 12,500sqft B1/B2 unit, with strong interest on phase 3 from a single well known occupier.
Tracy Clavell-Bate, Head of Development at Barnfield Construction adds: – “This will be our fourth contract with Aldi with others being in Clitheroe, St Helens and just completed last month, Rhyl. We’re looking forward to being back on site with a great team in this fantastic development location.
Bryn Richards, Regional Property Director for Aldi Stores Ltd commented: “We are delighted to be a step closer to a new store at Beacon 62 with Barnfield Construction and Henry Boot Developments. We expect to open the store in Q2 of 2020, bringing our award-winning products and 40 local jobs to the local community.”
