Teams Barnfield Elite and Barnfield A Team from Barnfield Construction are still celebrating/recovering after coming 1st and 3rd in the Coniston Challenge 2018.
Twelve members of staff entered the annual triathlon in aid of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital despite soaring temperatures. The triathlon with a twist comprised;
- A 10 km trek up the Old Man of Coniston
- 17 km bike ride through the Grizedale Forest
- 3 km Kayak across Coniston water
In addition to winning 1st and 3rd place out of the 29 teams that took part, Barnfield Elite team also won the fastest time in the bike challenge.
The two teams of 6 raised a phenomenal £8,000, of which £3000 was donated by Barnfield Construction, for Alder Hey Hospital and everyone will definitely be taking part again next year.
