Barnfield pre let building to Travelodge

Barnfield Construction is celebrating following their pre let agreement to Travelodge in Bradford City Centre.

Bradford City Council has granted consent for a 69-bed development that is set to open next spring.

Travelodge is currently engaged in a £300m UK-wide investment programme that will create 34 hotels in addition to the Bradford location.

The five-storey hotel is to be built on largely vacant land between Mill Street and Valley Road - 120m north of the the proposed Broadway development.

Barnfield was advised by Indigo Planning, whose director Doug Hann said: "Travelodge has seen the potential of the site which is next to the Cathedral Precinct Conservation Area and in a gateway location to the city. Barnfield has worked with Travelodge to design a high quality bespoke building fitting for its location."

Two Retail units beneath the Travelodge will be available to let and interested parties are being advised to contact sole agent for the site, Tom Robertshaw of Steadman Brierley on 0113 244 3888.

The hotel will also create six full-time and 14 part-time jobs at all levels. Travelodge said it will recruit locally.
