Barnfield complete The Original Factory Shop HQ extension

The Original Factory Shop is celebrating the completion of a new 100,000 sq ft extension at its Head Office, based on the Orient Business Park in Burnley.

The extension was undertaken by Barnfield Construction and has taken five months to complete.

It has increased the low priced department store chain's headquarters by nearly double, to 250,000 sq ft. The Original Factory Shop sees this as an integral part of its business plan to sustain its rapid expansion plans over the next five years.

The Original Factory Shop is a national UK non-food convenience retailer, with over 170 stores operating in local markets and 2,600 employees.

It provides its customers, often in rural locations, access to fantastic value on clothing, footwear, homewares and electrical products from top brands at up to 70% off the recommended retail price.

Its head office in Burnley controls all aspects and running of the stores and is home to a number of departments including Buying, Merchandising, Human Resources, Marketing, Distribution, Accounts and Property.
