Phase two continues at Stanley House Hotel
Date: 21.03.2011
Pennine Lancashire based Barnfield Construction Limited is delighted to have been appointed as construction partner for the next phase of the Stanley House Hotel development.
Barnfield first worked with Stanley House in 2003 when it completed a major restoration and conversion of the existing Grade 2 listed, 17th century manor house and disused barn into one of the country’s finest hotels.
Simon Glassbrook Director at Stanley House Hotel said “With the additional rooms and first class spa facilities, Stanley House Hotel can be rightfully classed as a true leisure destination for the north.
“We are making a substantial investment in challenging times which highlights our confidence in the hotel, our team and the region. We expect to create over 20 permanent jobs, supporting a number of local businesses during construction. It will provide a timely economic boost to Lancashire. “
Following the impressive conversion of the manor house back in 2003 myself and the other directors here at Stanley House had no hesitation in choosing Barnfield for the next phase of the development and we are looking forward to working with the team as work on site progresses.”
The next phase consists of a new three storey spa and hotel building which will replicate the original architecture that was compassionately restored in 2003.
The new wing will incorporate 18 individually themed bedrooms, sauna and steam room, hydrotherapy pool, gymnasium, changing rooms, five treatment rooms, a relaxation room with terrace, a dry flotation room and a manicure/pedicure room.
Work also encompassed in the scheme includes a lake to the rear of the spa.
James Webber, Contracts Manager at Barnfield Construction, commented “We are very pleased to be working with the team at Stanley House again. The luxury hotel already holds a reputation that precedes it and we look forward to developing the second phase of what promises to be one of the finest hotel and leisure destinations in the country.”
Work has started on site last week and the completion date is set for spring 2012. ”
