Following the complete destruction of the previous Edwardian, timber bandstand by arsonists, Barnfield Construction were asked by one of our joint venture partners to reconstruct a modern replica in its place. 

The exacting brief was to take the old bandstand concept and create a modern facility for live music and presentations.

Barnfield needed to reproduce complex details and features of the original bandstand whilst incorporating modern additions, including a two tonne fire shutter to prevent future arsonists.

The intricate detailing to the external facade tested our in house joiners to the limit in order to produce mouldings to replicate the details on the original bandstand. 

The new look bandstand celebrated its opening with a free festival featuring local bands.
