Ernie drives the Coach House team forward on their Coast to Coast Walk

Barnfield’s long standing employee, Ernie Anderson has recently returned from a spot of chauffer driving for a famous VIP and a team of ramblers as they trekked across England for the Coast to Coast Charity Walk.

The VIP customer of Coach House Antiques, Altham, Linda Barker who is most famous for her appearances on I'm a Celebrity and home improvement programme Changing Rooms, took part in the Coach House Coast to Coast Charity walk earlier this month. The team was led by 64 year old Coach House Antique’s owner, David Bovingdon and his team of 8 walkers consisting of friends, family and customers.

The group walked across England following in the footsteps of the great Alfred Wainwright - undertaking the Wainwright Coast to Coast Walk.  The journey took in 3 of England's most Beautiful National Parks, walking over 190 miles in 12 days.

The challenge, which started on the West Coast at St Bees Head and finished on the East Coast at Robin Hoods Bay, has managed to raise £16,000 so far for the Children with Cancer Charity. 

Ernie’s challenge was to transport the team to and from their accommodation in the mornings and evenings and provide much needed motivation for the walkers with his jolly spirit!
