Biffa Waste Services Limited have announced that Barnfield Construction have won the contract to develop a new state of the art recycling plant at Trafford Park, Manchester.
The plant will process over 200,000 tonnes of waste materials per annum and achieve recycling rates of over 90%.
Work started earlier this month on the transformation of the empty 200,000 sq ft Industrial unit purchased by Biffa.
Development of the empty shell will include a working waste factory together with brand new offices and all associated site facilities, valued at £2.7 million.
When completed in January 2010, the construction phase will create up to 30 jobs and over £3 million will be pumped into the local economy.
Barnfield Construction pride themselves in following strict programmes in order to maintain their high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business.
Contracts Director for Barnfield Construction Steve Riley commented "we are confident that we will complete this project on time and within budget."
