Today has seen a successful inspection of the showhome at Stanley Street, Nelson carried out by members of Pendle’s strategic development partnership company, PEARL2.PEARL2 is a partnership between Barnfield Investment Properties Ltd and Pendle Borough Council formed to identify development sites and carry out strategic regeneration within the Pendle area with the help of Government grant funding where possible.
The Stanley Street project has entailed the complete refurbishment of 14 listed former mill buildings with 12 of the houses being converted into double terraces enabling a new concept in spacious town centre living at affordable prices.
The houses which have been under wraps with huge scaffolding sheeting since December will be unveiled in June, newly sandblasted and re-pointed.
The houses have been completely stripped back to the brick and given an entirely new look inside which is contemporary and fresh.
New kitchens, bathrooms, electrics, windows, gutters, roofs and doors will replace the well worn interiors these houses once portrayed. New central heating using one of the Baxi boiler’s from British Gas will ensure the homes are highly energy efficient.
Geoff Curry, Site Manager, commented “The reason these homes are of such good quality is purely down to the tradesmen we employ. Each employee who has worked on this site is a credit to Barnfield Construction.”
